Rockland Immunochemcials to Market LIMR's Cell Assays

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Rockland Immunochemicals said today that it will market LIMR Development's cellular assays for research purposes.

The alliance builds on an earlier agreement between Gilbertsville, Pa.-based Rpckland and LIMR, which is a business development subsidiary of the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research.

Under the new agreement, Rockland will sell LIMR's CellCountEZ, OxPhos, RadDose, and Intracellular ThiolEZ assays.

The CellCountEZ assay measures metabolically active cells while simultaneously quantifying cell death to determine cell viability, cell toxicity, or cellular proliferation. The OxPhos assay is determines the cellular glutathione recycling capacity in tissue culture as well as that of whole blood. The RadDose assay is used for the measurement of ionizing radiation dose rates, and the Intracellular ThiolEZ assay is used to determine total intracellular thiols in studies of the aging, oxidative stress, antioxidant, chemotherapy response, and toxicology processes.

Financial and other terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
