NEW YORK – Roche Diagnostics will invest RMB 3 billion ($419.9 million) into expanding its diagnostics production facility in Suzhou, China, a spokesperson for the company said via email on Thursday.
The existing Suzhou site will soon reach its capacity limit and the expansion will help to meet the increasing demand for diagnostic solutions in China and parts of Asia-Pacific, the spokesperson noted.
The facility focuses on the manufacturing of diagnostic products and supplies mainly for China and parts of Asia-Pacific, including system reagents and sample collection products for PCR testing.
"As a diagnostics leader, we aim to accelerate and maximize our global presence and portfolio with multiple investments into our production sites, distribution hubs, and R&D centers to improve the lives of patients across the world," the spokesperson said.
