NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Wyss Institute spinout ReadCoor and genetic medicine firm Wave Life Sciences said today that they have agreed to collaborate on the development of a cell network map of the mouse brain.
Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will use ReadCoor's its proprietary FISSEQ (Florescent In-Situ Sequencing) panomic spatial sequencing platform to develop the mouse brain cell map in order to support Wave's efforts to develop targeted therapies for patients with rare diseases. FISSEQ provides spatial data by combining next generation sequencing and three-dimensional imaging.
Over the next two years, the companies hope to use the mouse brain map to characterize Wave's stereopure nucleic acid candidates in specific regions, cell types, and subcellular compartments of the brain.
The partnership is ReadCoor's first major industry collaboration, the company said.
