Stanford Medicine: Euan Ashley
Euan Ashley has been appointed as chair of the Department of Medicine at Stanford Medicine. He is a professor of cardiovascular medicine, genetics, and biomedical data science at Stanford School of Medicine and the founder of the Stanford Center for Inherited Cardiovascular Disease. Ashley has a medical degree from the University of Glasgow and completed his residency and fellowship, as well as a doctorate in molecular cardiology, at the University of Oxford. He has been a faculty member at Stanford since 2006.
Nautilus Biotechnology: Ken Suzuki
Nautilus Biotechnology has appointed Ken Suzuki as chief marketing officer. He was previously VP and general manager of Agilent Technologies' mass spectrometry division. Prior to that, he held numerous leadership positions at Agilent as well as roles in applications and sales at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and in finance at Hewlett-Packard.
Inbiome: Carl Wittwer
Dutch molecular diagnostics firm Inbiome has appointed Carl Wittwer to its advisory board. He is a professor emeritus of pathology at the University of Utah. In 1990, Wittwer cofounded Idaho Technology, now BioFire Diagnostics, where he served as CSO and later as board chairman when the firm was acquired by BioMérieux in 2014. He helped develop rapid-cycle PCR, the capillary-based LightCycler system, high-resolution melting, and extreme PCR.
Proteomics International: James Williams
James Williams has been appointed as an independent nonexecutive director of Proteomics International. He will also assume the role of deputy chair of the Australian diagnostic company's board. He is the CEO of Health Translation Group, a not-for-profit company that focuses on the translation of medical research outcomes. Williams holds a B.S. from the University of Aberdeen, a doctorate from the University of Melbourne, and an MBA from the University of Western Australia.
