Oxford Nanopore Technologies: Spike Willcocks, Clive Brown, Tim Cowper
James (Spike) Willcocks, Clive Brown, and Tom Cowper are stepping down from the board of directors of Oxford Nanopore Technologies. While Brown, who was on the board for five years, is resigning as director immediately, Willcocks, who served for 18 years, and Cowper, who has been on the board for five years, are staying until the company's annual general meeting in June. Willcocks will remain chief strategy officer; Brown will retain his role as chief technology, innovation, and product officer; and Cowper will remain chief operating officer. All three will also continue to serve on the firm's operating committee. Oxford Nanopore said their resignations "are part of normal board evolution and in line with best practice governance."
Circular Genomics: Dave Karlander, Vishi Srinivasan
Circular Genomics has appointed Dave Karlander as chief commercial officer and Vishi Srinivasan as senior director of clinical research. Karlander most recently served as senior VP of commercial operations at Biocept. Previously, he held executive positions at Exact Sciences, Mission Bio, and Novartis' Genoptix Medical Lab. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a B.S. from Miami University. Srinivasan was director of assay development at Hologic, where he developed molecular diagnostic panels. He holds an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
BioMark Diagnostics: Theresa Peterson
BioMark Diagnostics has a new member of its advisory team, Theresa Peterson, a retired senior executive director of GE Research who was responsible for leading government affairs and funding strategies, as well as driving diversity and inclusion efforts. Prior to joining GE, she held the position of manager of government affairs for 10 years at 3M. Peterson holds a B.A. in management from Simmons University and an M.A. from the University of Virginia school of architecture. She also serves on the board of the National Center for Women's Innovations, which is dedicated to celebrating women innovators.
BC Platforms: Tero Silvola, Mikaela Bruhammar
Tero Silvola has stepped down as CEO of BC Platforms, effective immediately, in order to become CEO of another company. He will remain a member of BC Platforms' board. Mikaela Bruhammar, the company's chief operating officer, has been appointed as interim CEO.
Armonica Technologies: Emily Milsovic
Armonica Technologies has appointed Emily Milsovic to its board of directors. Milsovic was most recently head of marketing and product management at Grail. Prior to that, she was VP of business operations at Illumina. She also has executive marketing experience from stints at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Beckman Coulter. Milsovic is also on the board of the National Women's Hall of Fame. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Seek Labs: Cindy Dunkle
Seek Labs has appointed Cindy Dunkle to its board of directors, effective Feb. 27. She is chief people office for Denali Therapeutics and previously held positions in human resources at Adverum Biotechnologies and Roche's Genetech. Dunkle currently also serves on the board of Life Science Cares Bay Area, which addresses poverty and inequality locally. Salt Lake City-based Seek Labs develops point-of-care diagnostics and CRISPR-based drug technologies.
