People in the News: New Appointments at Seegene, Quanterix, Deepcell, More

Seegene: Richard Creager

Seegene has appointed Richard Creager as CEO of its US subsidiary, Seegene Technologies. Creager was CSO and executive officer for Beckman Coulter for nearly five years, and prior to that he was group VP for the immunoassay & molecular diagnostics business group at Beckman. He has also served as a partner at business advisory firm IOI Partners, and was a cofounder and partner at consulting firm NaviDx. He holds a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.


Quanterix: Masoud Toloue, Kevin Hrusovsky

Masoud Toloue will become CEO of Quanterix, effective April 25, taking over from Kevin Hrusovsky, who will assume the role of executive chairman of the board. Toloue, who will also join the firm's board of directors, is currently president of Quanterix and diagnostics. Previously, he was senior VP of diagnostics at PerkinElmer, and before that, he founded and led the next-generation sequencing business of Bioo Scientific, a company acquired by PerkinElmer in 2016. He holds a Ph.D. in molecular cell biology from the University at Buffalo.


Deepcell: Cody Cain, Andrés Ortega

Cellular analysis company Deepcell has appointed Cody Cain as head of corporate and market development and Andrés Ortega as head of customer success.

Cain most recently led the single-cell multiomics team in the US for Becton Dickinson. He also spent more than 10 years at Illumina in sales and business development, and previously held sales leadership roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific, Life Technologies/Applied Biosystems, Stratagene, and Invitrogen.

Ortega previously led global field services at Pacific Biosciences and Illumina, and spent a decade as managing director of TNK Associates.
