Illumina: John Frank
John Frank has been appointed as chief public affairs officer of Illumina, effective April 18. He will report to CEO Francis deSouza and serve as the company's top strategic adviser and decision maker on government affairs and public policy. Frank joins Illumina after 27 years at Microsoft, where he was most recently VP of United Nations Affairs and International Organizations. Prior to that, he practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Frank holds a JD degree from Columbia Law School and a bachelor's degree in public and international affairs from Princeton University.
MiRxes: Tony Mok
Singapore-based cancer early detection company MiRxes has appointed medical oncologist Tony Mok to its scientific advisory board. Mok is the Li Shu Fan Medical Foundation endowed professor and chairman of the department of clinical oncology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Mok also cofounded the Lung Cancer Research Group, Chinese Thoracic Oncology Research Group, and Asia Thoracic Oncology Research Group, and has led multiple multinational studies on personalized medicine in lung cancer, including the landmark Iressa Pan-Asia Study (IPASS), MiRxes said.
GNS Healthcare: Joseph Donahue
GNS Healthcare hired Joseph Donahue as its chief business officer, in charge of the company's global business operations, marketing, and customer support organizations. Donahue has previously served in senior leadership and board positions at Accenture, BioReference Laboratories, Genospace, Lion Bioscience, Medidata Solutions, Monocl, Spotfire, and Thomson Reuters, among others.
