People in the News: New Appointments at Genomics England, Seven Bridges, Dante Labs, More

Genomics England: Matt Brown

Matt Brown has been appointed as CSO of Genomics England. He will succeed Sir Mark Caulfield, who will leave his post in November. Brown is currently a professor of medicine at King's College London and director of the National Institute for Health Research Biomedical Research Centre at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He will leave his position at the BRC in October but will retain part-time appointments with the Trust and King's College London.


Seven Bridges: David Ramos

Seven Bridges has hired David Ramos as chief technology officer. Ramos previously was in charge of engineering of the HealthCloud platform at CVS Health, which, according to Seven Bridges, provides various "microservices" behind the scenes to CVS customers. Ramos also has headed product and engineering teams for Rakuten, Siebel Systems/Oracle, KPMG, and PwC.


Dante Labs: Mark Van Oene

Dante Labs has named Mark Van Oene to its board of directors. Van Oene is chief operating officer of Pacific Biosciences, a newly created position he took in January. He joined PacBio after 15 years at Illumina, where he most recently served as senior VP and chief commercial officer, in charge of worldwide sales and service. Before working at Illumina, Van Oene was director of genotyping services at Ellipsis Biotherapeutics.
