People in the News at GenomOncology, Translational Genomics Research Institute, and Caris

GenomOncology: Jack Lord

Jonathan "Jack" Lord has been appointed to the board of directors of GenomOncology. Most recently, he was chief innovation officer and chief operating officer at the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami. Previously, Lord, a board-certified forensic pathologist, was chief medical officer and chief innovation officer at Humana. He also held senior executive positions at Anne Arundel Medical Center, SunHealth, and the American Hospital Association after serving in the medical department of the US Navy.


TGen: John Fryer

The Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) has appointed John Fryer as a professor in the Division of Bioinnovation and Genome Sciences and as director of the new Center for Accelerated Nanotherapeutics. He joins TGen from the Mayo Clinic, where he was a professor in the Department of Neuroscience, among other roles. Fryer, an expert in neurodegenerative diseases, holds a B.S. in microbiology from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis.


Caris Life Sciences: James Hamrick

Caris Life Sciences has appointed James Hamrick as chairman of the Caris Precision Oncology Alliance, a global collaborative network of precision oncology-focused cancer centers and research consortia. Hamrick was previously VP of clinical oncology for Flatiron Health. Prior to that, he was chief of medical oncology and hematology at Kaiser Permanente of Georgia. He also practiced at Georgia Cancer Specialists. Hamrick is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology. He earned his M.D. and an MPH in epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed his residency and hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco.
