CareDx: John Hanna
CareDx has appointed John Hanna as president, CEO, and a member of the company's board of directors, effective April 15. Hanna previously served as CEO of Apton Biosystems and VP of corporate development for Pacific Biosciences, and held several roles at Veracyte, including chief commercial officer and VP of marketing. Prior to Veracyte, Hanna held leadership roles at Humana and IBM.
Exact Sciences: Aaron Bloomer
Exact Sciences has appointed Aaron Bloomer as CFO, effective May 15. Bloomer has over 15 years of finance and accounting experience, holding previous leadership positions as VP of Baxter International and senior VP of financial planning, reporting, and analytics at 3M. Bloomer will succeed Jeff Elliott following a 30-day transition period. As previously announced, Elliott will then transition to serving as special adviser to Exact Sciences CEO Kevin Conroy.
NeoGenomics: Warren Stone, Melody Harris
NeoGenomics has promoted Warren Stone to the position of chief commercial officer and Melody Harris to the position of chief operations officer and president of informatics.
Stone joined NeoGenomics in 2022 as president of clinical services. Prior to NeoGenomics, he served as president of Americas at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics and senior VP of MilliporeSigma's life sciences division. He holds an MBA from Suffolk University.
Harris joined NeoGenomics in 2022 as president of enterprise operations. Prior to that, she served as president and chief operating officer at SomaLogic and held several executive positions at Qualcomm Life's digital health subsidiary and at HealthyCircles, a healthcare web platform. Harris holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Denver and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
Delve Bio: Jeff Field
Jeff Field has joined Delve Bio as its chief commercial officer. Field previously held the same position at Clear Labs and IDbyDNA (acquired by Illumina). Prior to that, he led commercial efforts at GenePeeks and Foundation Medicine. He will lead Delve Bio's efforts to commercialize its metagenomic next-generation sequencing technology for infectious disease diagnosis.
Aqtual: Signe Fransen, Maggie Louie, Jason Carlson
Hayward, California-based liquid biopsy company Aqtual has appointed Signe Fransen as VP of scientific and medical affairs, Maggie Louie as VP of translational research and strategic partnerships, and Jason Carlson as VP of data integrity and GxP systems.
Fransen was previously VP of clinical and medical affairs at Strata Oncology and VP of medical affairs at Salish Biosciences. She holds a B.S. degree from Simon Fraser University and an M.S. degree in medical sciences, molecular immunology, and virology from McMaster University.
Louie previously served as VP of research at Earli. She holds an M.S. in chemistry from San Francisco State University and a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Davis.
Carlson was previously a senior director at Grail. Before that, he was head of data management at Gilead Sciences. He holds a B.S. degree in genetics from UC Davis and a global master of public health degree from Imperial College London.
SPT Labtech: Rob Walton
SPT Labtech has appointed Rob Walton as CEO, effective May 1, succeeding David Newble. Walton joins the Melbourn, UK-based life science automation company from GE Healthcare, where he was president and CEO for EMEA. Prior to that, he led the Asia-Pacific region, based in Singapore. He has also worked within GE Healthcare's ultrasound primary and affordable care and respiratory care businesses. Prior to GE, he held engineering and operations leadership positions at Ford, Unilever, and Bain & Company.
Deepull: Kimberle Chapin, Wade Stevenson
Infectious disease diagnostics company Deepull of Barcelona, Spain, has appointed Kimberle Chapin as chief medical officer and Wade Stevenson as chief marketing and sales officer.
Chapin is a professor of medicine as well as pathology and laboratory medicine at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University. Previously, she was chief medical officer at Cepheid and director of clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases at Lifespan Academic Medical Center. She holds an M.D. and an M.Sc. in molecular genetics and microbiology from the University of Massachusetts and a B.S. in biology from Boston College.
Stevenson previously held various roles at BioFire Diagnostics, now part of BioMérieux, including VP North America for clinical marketing. Previously, he was VP of marketing at Roche's US molecular laboratory. He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and a B.S. in zoology from Brigham Young University.
Sphere Fluidics: Ed Rayner
Sphere Fluidics, a company specializing in microfluidics-based solutions for single-cell isolation and analysis, has appointed Ed Rayner to its board of directors as a nonexecutive director. Rayner is currently a healthcare consultant for investment bank Panmure Gordon and has previously held a number of analyst and portfolio management positions at research-led investment firms, including AMP Capital, Alliance Bernstein, UBS Asset Management, and JP Morgan Investment Management. Rayner has also worked in biotech venture capital at Arix Bioscience. He earned an M.A, in chemistry and M.Sc. in management from Oxford University.
Gradientech: AnnaLotta Schiller Vestergren
Gradientech has appointed AnnaLotta Schiller Vestergren as chief commercial officer. Schiller Vestergren was most recently head of global marketing at Pixelgen Technologies. She was previously CCO at TATAA Biocenter and has also held business development and product management positions at Olink Proteomics, GE Healthcare, and Applied Biosystems.
NX Prenatal: Paul Kortschak
Paul Kortschak has been appointed as CEO of Louisville, Kentucky-based diagnostics company NX Prenatal, effective April 1. He previously held executive positions at Roche, Qiagen, and Bio-Rad Laboratories.
