Paragon Genomics CleanPlex Emerging Variant Add-on V2
Paragon Genomics has launched the CleanPlex Emerging Variant Add-on V2 (EVAv2) for its CleanPlex SARS-CoV-2 Research and Surveillance Panels for viral detection, mutation analysis, variant tracking, and epidemiological research. The add-on provides optimized coverage for new and emerging variants of SARS-CoV-2, Paragon said. It provides additional confidence in variant calling and includes added primers for enhanced coverage of critical variants, such as Alpha, Beta, Delta, Mu, and Omicron. EVAv2 has also been confirmed in silico to cover all defining and characteristic mutations of the sub-lineages of Omicron: BA.1, BA.2, and BA.3. The add-on has been designed for ease of use with existing CleanPlex SARS-CoV-2 whole-genome sequencing panels and can be directly added to existing CleanPlex workflows with minimal time and effort, the company said. In general, CleanPlex uses a proprietary multiplex PCR background cleaning chemistry to effectively remove nonspecific PCR products, improving target enrichment performance and efficient use of sequencing reads.
Immucor Mia Fora NGS Express HLA Typing Software
Immucor announced the global launch of its Mia Fora NGS Express HLA typing software, designed to provide users of the Mia Fora NGS Flex HLA typing assays with faster and easier next-generation sequencing analysis, according to the company. Mia Fora software, including the newly launched Express, is the only NGS HLA analysis software that uses three algorithms for analysis of genotyping calls and a proprietary solution for precise mapping and alignment, the company said. The Express software's updated smart flagging system allows users to confidently and rapidly make allele calls, the company added. The software is available in the US for research use only, and is CE marked.
Canopy Biosciences CellScape
Bruker subsidiary Canopy Biosciences has launched its CellScape ChipCytometry system for single-cell targeted spatial proteomics. The system builds upon Canopy's existing instrument, the ZellScannerOne, offering walk-away automation, improved optical performance, subcellular resolution, and significantly improved throughput. According to Canopy, the system will enable large-scale clinical studies at high levels of protein multiplexing.
