Opentrons Flex Proteomics Workstation
Opentrons has launched the Flex Proteomics Workstation, an automated system for common proteomics workflows, including preparing mass spectrometry (MS) samples. The platform combines a liquid handling platform with an on-deck plate reader, heater-shaker, and magnetic block to automate steps such as protein digestion (SP3), quantification, labeling, and purification. Researchers can run multiple different proteomics sample preparation workflows using preexisting verified protocols developed by Opentrons or their own protocols. Long Island City, New York-based Opentrons said that the workstation and the Opentrons Flex Absorbance Plate Reader are not available for sale in the EU due to a third-party patent application and German patent.
SeqWell MosaiX Library Preparation Kit
SeqWell is now providing early access to its new MosaiX Library Prep Kit for demanding applications in human population genomics such as whole-exome and whole-genome sequencing. The kit is powered by SeqWell's TnX transposase, a high-performance next-generation sequencing enzyme engineered for improved activity and reduced insertion-site bias that helps enable workflow simplicity without sacrificing library quality, the company said. The kit is based on a novel, proprietary library preparation chemistry that results in directional tagmentation using a 90-minute end-to-end workflow, requiring only 45 minutes from genomic DNA to PCR-ready libraries, SeqWell said. The company will highlight the product at the Advances in Genome Biology and Technology conference next week in Marco Island, Florida.
Parse Biosciences Evercode Whole Transcriptome Penta Single-Cell Kits
Parse Biosciences has launched the Evercode Whole Transcriptome Penta and Penta 384 single-cell RNA sequencing kits to profile 5 million cells and 384 samples in a single run. The new kits will begin shipping March 17.
Lynx Dx MyProstateScore 2.0 Test Kit
Lynx Dx has launched its MyProstateScore 2.0 (MPS2) prostate cancer test kit for at-home collection of urine samples that are tested in the company's Michigan laboratory. MPS2 is a PCR assay that analyzes a set of 18 gene transcripts to predict the presence of clinically significant prostate cancer. Physicians can now order the test for patients to complete at home without the need for a digital rectal examination. The results are used to help healthcare providers determine which patients with elevated PSA levels should proceed to biopsy.
Seonix Bio SightScore
Seonix Bio of San Diego has launched SightScore, a clinical polygenic risk score testing service for glaucoma, in the US. Using a saliva sample, the test analyzes millions of genetic variants to estimate a person's genetic risk of developing glaucoma or the risk of a glaucoma patient's condition worsening, the company said. SightScore can be referred online by an appropriate health professional.
