Ambry Genetics Hereditary Cancer Test Updates

Ambry Genetics has updated its portfolio of tests to detect genetic mutations associated with hereditary cancer. Changes include updates to the CancerNext, BRCANext, and ColoNext test panels, additional genes and indications for more comprehensive genetic assessments, and enhancements such as add-on options for genes with limited evidence.

Qiagen QiAcuity Assays

Qiagen has launched more than 100 new assays for its QiAcuity digital PCR system. The research-use and applied testing assays are intended to aid in the study of cancer, inherited genetic disorders, infectious disease surveillance, and food and environmental monitoring. They include dPCR locked nucleic acid mutation and copy number variation probe assays as well as microbial detection assays. The assays are available through Qiagen's GeneGlobe platform, which integrates pre-designed assays with a database that includes genes, miRNAs, and pathways.

Indical Bioscience IndiMag 2

Indical Bioscience, a developer of veterinary diagnostics, has launched IndiMag 2, an automated magnetic bead-based nucleic acid extraction platform. It uses modular plastic options, including separate lysis and elution strips, and supports both user-developed and preloaded protocols. It is compatible with Indical's IndiMag Pathogen pre-filled reagents as well as other magnetic bead-based applications.

Variantyx Genomic Unity 2.0

Variantyx has launched Genomic Unity 2.0, a whole-genome diagnostic test that integrates short-read sequencing and Oxford Nanopore-based long-read sequencing. According to the company, combining the two techniques improves the test's sensitivity for detecting structural variants, enhances resolution in nonunique regions that are difficult to map, and allows for the analysis of short tandem repeats to identify repeat expansions. In addition, the test can provide methylation status and resolve variant phasing.

Almaden Genomics Data Management and Informatics Services

Almaden Genomics has launched a new data management and informatics services business to support its bioinformatics and computational biology products. The company now offers services in data management, cloud-based informatics, custom bioinformatics pipelines, and data quality and governance.

Infinity Bio HuSIGHT-Total

Infinity Bio has launched its HuSIGHT-Total autoantibody analysis service. According to the company, the service provides comprehensive coverage of the human proteome with more than 385,000 human protein sequences represented. The collection is composed of three sets of human proteins: more than 16,000 full-length proteins from the Ultimate ORFeome library, 880 mature chain secreted full-length proteins, and more than 350,000 peptides covering all human proteins in the UniProt and RefSeq databases.

Metabolon Advanced Statistical Analysis Tool

Metabolon has launched an advanced statistical analysis tool within its bioinformatics platform. The tool helps researchers build and compare different statistical models, upload and manage metadata, remove outliers, test hypotheses, and visualize results.

Circular Genomics MindLight

Circular Genomics has launched a blood-based PCR assay for the detection of circular RNA biomarkers to help predict whether a patient with major depressive disorder will respond to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant therapy. The MindLight assay is used to aid the management of patients who have a diagnosis of depression. Circular Genomics said that the test has a prognostic accuracy of 77 percent, and patients with test results that suggest a high likelihood of response are 3.4 times more likely to respond to SSRIs than those whose results suggest a low likelihood of response.
