Natera, LifeLabs Ink Agreement for NIPT in Canada

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Natera today announced it has signed a new agreement giving LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services the rights to perform the firm's Panorama non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) in Canada.

The Panorama blood-based test examines cell-free DNA to screen for chromosomal abnormalities and five clinically relevant deletion mutations.

"Panorama is a trusted name in prenatal screening, and now Natera has deployed a scalable cloud-based software system that will support laboratories worldwide in developing non-invasive DNA testing capabilities of their own, with built-in quality control and outstanding clinical performance," Natera CEO Matthew Rabinowitz said in a statement.

The agreement follows a 2013 deal for LifeLabs to distribute the Panorama test in Canada.

Earlier this month, Natera raised $55.5 million in a private round of financing.
