MyOme, Novi Health Bring Whole-Genome Testing to Workplace Health Programs

NEW YORK – MyOme said Thursday that it has entered into a strategic partnership with personalized and preventive healthcare company Novi Health to offer whole-genome sequencing and genetic counseling as part of a workplace health benefits program.

The program will make MyOme's single-gene risk reports, medication response reports, and breast cancer polygenic risk scores (PRS) available to workers of participating organizations and their families.

Beneficiaries will also have access to other MyOme reports as they become available. These include genetic risk reports for coronary artery disease and type 2 diabetes.

Reports will also include personalized recommendations based on each employee's results and access to genetic counselors to help them understand the results and discuss preventive strategies such as lifestyle changes.

Financial and other details of the collaboration were not disclosed. Novi Health intends to seek additional partnerships to continue expanding the program.

"By integrating genomics into employer health programs, we provide participants with knowledge that can save lives and significantly improve outcomes," Jeffrey Weitzel, chief medical officer of Novi Health, said in a statement.

Menlo Park, California-based MyOme recently partnered with Natera to launch its cross-ancestry, integrated breast cancer PRS. The whole-genome analysis company also partnered last year with Broad Clinical Labs and Southern Research to offer no-cost genetic testing services to Alabama residents as part of a state-sponsored population health program.
