LabCorp Acquires Bode Technology

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Laboratory Corporation of America today announced it has acquired forensics and DNA identification services firm Bode Technology Group from SolutionPoint International.

Lorton, Va.-based Bode Technology will continue to provide forensic DNA analysis, DNA collection products, and relationship testing in combination with LabCorp subsidiary Cellmark Forensics. Under the new combined businesses, the subsidiaries will provide DNA testing services to federal and state governments, law enforcement agencies, crime laboratories, and disaster management organizations.

"Bode Technology's capabilities strengthen our range of forensics and DNA identification testing services," LabCorp CEO David King said in a statement.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

In 2011, LabCorp acquired Orchid Cellmark to create Cellmark Forensics.
