NEW YORK — Integrated DNA Technologies said Monday that it has signed an agreement with Elegen to offer that company's Enfinia Plasmid DNA synthesis service for long and high-complexity clonal genes before its official release.
Under the terms of the deal, IDT customers may order next-generation sequencing-verified clonal genes ranging in size from 5 kb to 15 kb ahead of their formal commercial launch. The research-use-only genes are shipped from Menlo Park, California-based Elegen within 10 business days, IDT said.
Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"Our partnership with Elegen allows us to offer customers competitively priced long and complex DNA that they can pair with IDT's extensive portfolio of custom synthetic biology solutions," Sandy Ottensmann, VP and general manager of IDT's gene writing and editing business unit, said in a statement.
