Hologic Reports 7 Percent Increase in Preliminary Q1 Revenues

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Hologic said today that it expects to report total revenues of $653 million for its fiscal first quarter ending Dec. 31, 2014.

The preliminary revenues represent a 7 percent increase over the prior-year period and exceed the company's previous quarterly revenue guidance of $625 million to $635 million. The projected revenues also beat consensus analyst estimates of $631 million for the quarter.

Hologic estimated a 6 percent increase in revenues for its Diagnostics business segment in the quarter, to $304 million. It projected $242 million in revenue for its Breast Health segment, which would be a 7 percent increase over the comparable period in 2013; $84 million in GYN Surgical revenue, also a 7 percent bump; and $22 million in Skeletal Health revenue, a 5 percent increase.

Hologic also said today that it voluntarily prepaid $300 million of principal on a Term Loan B facility in December.

The company will release its full financial results for its first fiscal quarter on Jan. 28.
