NEW YORK — Everlife Holdings said on Thursday that it has acquired Research Instruments (RI), a Singapore-based distributor for genomic and life science research products in Southeast Asia.
Financial and other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
RI, which has more than 70 employees in four countries, supplies products from a variety of companies in the omics technology space, including Agilent Technologies, Pacific Biosciences, NanoString Technologies, Twist Bioscience, Quanterix, Cell Signaling Technology, and Thermo Fisher Scientific. It also offers its own reagents for genomics and protein research under the Pure-NA and True-Pro brands.
Everlife, also headquartered in Singapore, provides a range of diagnostic, research, and medical products to clinical and scientific labs in India and Southeast Asia. It said that the acquisition of RI will dovetail with its recent purchases of three other life science and analytical research product firms — Chemopharm and Analisa Resources, both based in Malaysia, and Singapore's Scientific Resources — and give it access to additional Southeast Asian markets including Thailand and Vietnam.
In January, RI signed an agreement to distribute Parse Biosciences' single-cell RNA-seq kits in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
