NEW YORK – Dovetail Genomics said on Wednesday that it has partnered with Germany's Goenomics to offer enhanced genome assembly.
Under the terms of the deal, Goenomics will provide faster annotation for Dovetail's assembly service using its algorithm for homology-based gene reconstruction, enabling annotation for genomes up to 1 Gb in three weeks.
Financial and other details of the deal were not disclosed.
"This partnership expands what we can offer our customers for annotation enabling a richer genome representation with faster turnaround time compared to open-source tools," Dovetail CEO Mathew Easterday said in a statement.
Dovetail Genomics is a subsidiary of Cantata Bio offering proximity ligation technologies to map 3D genome architecture.
Founded in 2021, Goenomics is based in Göttingen, Germany. In a statement the firm said its algorithm for homology-based gene reconstruction provides a 15 percent to 20 percent increase in annotation accuracy, compared to other tools.
As part of this partnership, new and returning Dovetail customers will receive a free enhanced analysis report package.
