DOJ Closes Investigation of CareDx Business Practices With No Wrongdoing Found

NEW YORK – CareDx said on Tuesday that the US Department of Justice concluded its investigation into the company's business practices, having found no wrongdoing and declining to take further action.

The DOJ opened a False Claims Act investigation into the Brisbane, California-based company's kidney testing and phlebotomy services practices in 2021, in response to a complaint filed by a former employee.

The DOJ decision follows a similar decision by the US Securities and Exchange Commission last September to close its own investigation and also take no action. CareDx also said that in 2021 that the SEC subpoenaed the firm as part of an investigation into its accounting and public reporting practices.

"CareDx will continue to vigorously defend itself should the former employee choose to proceed with this litigation," the company said in a statement.
