NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – IT solutions provider CSRA announced today that it has been awarded a $17 million, three-year contract to provide multiple levels of IT support for the National Human Genome Research Institute, including for its high-performance bioinformatics computing of genomic data.
"Our customer is challenged with maintaining a cutting-edge technological environment to support the NHGRI community," Paul Nedzbala, executive vice president of CSRA's health and civil group, said in a statement. "We are helping NHGRI meet those challenges by applying innovative approaches to supporting scientific research enabled by the expertise of CSRA's brilliant people and teams."
Under the terms of the agreement, CSRA will also serve as the single IT provider for NHGRI desktops, servers, applications, databases, and website, using current and emerging technologies to enhance and improve infrastructure, security, and existing business processes, operations, and reliability.
Further terms of the contract were not disclosed.
