NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Fujifilm subsidiary Cellular Dynamics International announced today that it has signed a distribution agreement for its iCell line of induced pluripotent stem cell products with Stemcell Technologies.
ICell products are differentiated human iPSC-derived cells, including cardiomyocytes and hepatocytes that are used in drug and cell therapy development. Under the terms of the deal, Stemcell will distribute the products in North America, Europe, and Singapore. Other countries are also under consideration by the firms.
Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We believe that Stemcell Technologies … is an ideal partner for [Cellular Dynamics] because their global sales and distribution infrastructure delivers to an established and an emerging customer base, which translates into faster access to and deeper penetration of [our] leading edge technologies and products," Bruce Novich, executive vice president and general manager of Cellular Dynamics, said in a statement.
In November, Cellular Dynamics inked a supply deal for its iCell products with Roche worth up to $83 million.
