NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Arbor Biosciences announced that Tataa Biocenter will help expand Arbor's presence in Europe by distributing its next-generation sequencing and synthetic biology products in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
As part of the agreement, Michigan-based Arbor will provide reagents and support to Tataa for its education course on NGS applications during the year in various European areas, as well as technical expertise for Tataa's role as a partner of the Cancer-ID and SPIDIA (Standardisation and improvement of generic pre-analytical tools and procedures for in vitro diagnostics) consortia.
The partnership will help expand the utility of Arbor's NGS sample products into applications such as liquid biopsy analysis, agrigenomics, and personalized medicine. According to Arbor Marketing Director Matthew Hymes, the firm's gene synthesis and cell-free protein expression portfolio will "support the fast-growing synthetic biology market in industry and academia across Europe."
"Our customers request professional tools for the entire NGS workflow, from sample preparation and quality control to library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis," Tataa Biocenter President and Founder Mikael Kubista said in a statement. "With Arbor's target enrichment kits, we can help our customers improve cost performance of targeted sequencing."
