NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Agena Bioscience today expanded its roster of European distributors for the MassArray system, adding Kawa.Ska in Poland and BioGen-Analytica in Russia.
Financial and other terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
"We are pleased to extend our partnerships with BioGen-Analytica and Kawa.Ska not only for their experience in the biotechnology market, but also for their ability to move Agena Bioscience into the clinical and diagnostic markets," Edvin Munk, Agena VP and managing director, Europe, said in a statement, adding that the deals will "help better meet the growing market demand from our Eastern European customer base."
San Diego-based Agena's MassArray platform detects genetic variation with end-point PCR and label-free mass spectrometry.
Zalesie Górne, Poland-based Kawa.Ska distributes to hospitals, medical academies, the Polish Academy of Sciences institutes, molecular diagnostics facilities, biotechnology companies, and industrial plants.
Moscow-based BioGen-Analytica distributes to universities, medical academies, drug developers, and federal agencies including the ministry of defense.
