Abbott Extends Tender Offer for Alere Preferred Stock

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Abbott today extended its tender offer to purchase all outstanding shares of Alere's Series B convertible perpetual preferred stock at $402 per share.

The offer has been extended to 11:59 p.m. EST, Oct. 3. It was previously scheduled to expire at 11:59 p.m. EST, Sept. 29, and is being extended to allow additional time for the completion of Abbott's planned $5.3 billion buy of Alere, anticipated to be completed on Oct. 3. Regulators last week cleared the way for the deal.
