Over at Bitesize Bio, Nick Oswald has a post about career goals. "Is the position you are in at the moment helping you to reach that goal, or are you stagnating?" he asks. Nick considers the career assessment issue from the perspective of students as well as scientists already into their careers. For both groups, he advocates dedicating some time to really planning where you want to be in the next few years, and making sure you're taking the right steps to make that happen.
