Thomas Mailund is getting a bit fed up with Linux -- he has an Ubuntu Linux laptop. He says that he's used to having Linux problems when he fills up his RAM but now he writes, "It seems to me that whenever I start a memory intensive job, the very next thing I do is to reboot it using the power button." Some of his commenters suggest that he run the memtest utility, check the memory fetches in his software, and take a look at the distribution he's using to get to the bottom of the problem.
