A Good Security System Might Be a Better Bet

In the wake of the Eli Lilly warehouse break-in, Cellular Bioengineering announced its TruTag product, an "edible spectral microtag that can be used to authenticate and identify medicine, food, and numerous other solid or liquid products," according to the company's public relations representative. A code is embedded both in the packaging and in the tag, which is implanted directly into the pill, making it easy to track the drugs even if the packaging is tampered with.
