Stephen Colbert Chimes in on Gene Patenting

Stephen Colbert's April 15 interview with Kevin Noonan, makes a pretty good case for gene patenting, says Patent Docs' Donald Zuhn, who works with Noonan. Noonan has been defending Myriad's right to the breast cancer gene patent that was ruled invalid in March. Colbert showed clips of Noonan's appearance on 60 Minutes earlier this month, and putting aside the satire, the jokes, and the possibility that "Colbert may actually side with the plaintiffs and the ACLU," Zuhn says that the segment makes a better case for gene patenting than Noonan's appearance on 60 Minutes.
