In Public Health Genomics, researchers from Johns Hopkins University's Genetics and Public Policy Center propose a blueprint for a national genetic test registry. They say that the registry should be mandatory and that it should contain information so that the analytic validity, clinical validity, and clinical utility may be assessed. "Establishing a registry is a critical first step in the development of a more transparent, quality-centered system of oversight that will better inform and protect the public," they write in the abstract.
