Review Unto Others as You Would Have Them Review Unto You

Juniorprof blogs about reviewing papers, an activity he finds rewarding for getting to read interesting science early, and for "having the opportunity to help authors improve on their manuscripts." In the post, Juniorprof urges fellow reviewers to produce high-quality reviews: "Always give evidence of your claims and try to improve the quality of the papers that you review," he writes. After all, sloppy or lazy reviews just add time to the process and don't help the scientific authors.
