Geoff Davis and Peter Fiske, who run the blog at phds.org, asked readers to write in with how they would change the NIH funding strategy if they were in charge. Now that several responses are in, some of the favorite suggestions are reducing the size of grants (we're interpreting that as "Stop writing huge checks to the Broad!") and lengthening the grant durations by a few years.
