Ranking Biotech

The Cross-Border Biotech Blog points to a special issue of Scientific American that ranks 36 countries by their biotech production and potential. The top 10 include Australia, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Israel, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, and the US, as judged by their innovation score which took into account foundations, enterprise support, IP, education and workforce, and intensity in each country. The issue also spotlights countries not on that list, such as Brazil, Mexico, and South Africa among others.
