Personalized Medicine Climbs the Ranks

Wall Street Journal has a report on Medco Health Solutions' new partnership with the US Food and Drug Administration "to study the role of patients' genetic makeup in prescribing medications, a collaboration aimed at expanding the scientific evidence for 'personalized medicine,'" the article says. "The two-year agreement calls for Medco to deliver reports to the FDA about pharmacogenomic testing, including physician participation in such testing and the usefulness of testing in prescribing medicines."
