Pedro Beltrao points to an editorial written by Catriona J. MacCallum in PLoS Biology, which elaborates on the true meaning of open access and warns about so-called open access publications like Molecular Systems Biology. According to Beltrao, MSB is working their issues out, and he doesn’t like that PLoS obscured the comment/defense posted by Thomas Lemberger, editor at MSB.
