India's New Frontier

The Human Frontiers Science Program Organization welcomed India as the program's newest contributing country this month. Scientists from India will now be able to strike up collaborations under the HSFP umbrella and participate in the program's next grant cycle. According to Torsten Wiesel, Nobel laureate and secretary general of the HFSPO, India's membership "brings a new dimension to the global nature of the HFSP," which has expanded to include Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea in the last two years.
