Derek Lowe is all for the patent bill that just made its way through the US House of Representatives. As it is now, HR 1908 and the Senate version, S. 1145, would change the patent system so that the US would be a first-to-file country, but Lowe says most of the arguing is over how easy it will be to get a patent and then how easy it will be to challenge those patents.
