Happy Darwin Day!: Feb 12, 2008

Happy birthday, Charles! Blogger Jennifer Jacquet has baked you a cake, rather, has baked a cake that looks like you. Also, PZ Myers will be heading off to give a few lectures. Myers will be emphasizing to his students that Darwin was 22 when the Beagle left England and, in another talk, will be discussing new perspectives on evolution and development.

Though Darwin was born 199 years ago, he's still a hot topic of debate. Wired's Brandon Keim reports that nine of Florida's 64 counties passed resolutions for evolution to be "balanced" with alternative theories.
