Great Merger, Guys. Here's $1 Million

Frank D'Amelio and Ian Read, respectively the CFO and the head of biopharmaceuticals at Pfizer, will each receive about a million dollar bonus, according to the Wall Street Journal Health Blog. They showed, according to the board's compensation committee, "devoted extraordinary efforts and made extraordinary contributions" to the Pfizer-Wyeth merger. The Health Blog notes that Pfizer plans to eliminate 20,000 jobs due to the merger.
