The Short Read Archive at the National Center for Biotechnology Information is up and running, reports the current issue of NCBI News. Head to the archive to sift through, add to, or download sequencing data from next-generation platforms including 454, Complete Genomics, HeliScope, Illumina, and SOLiD. In addition to the browser interface and Entrez database, the SRA also offers a Blast search of the reads. "The power and capabilities of the SRA site will expand to provide better and more powerful options for searching and connecting these data to other resources," NCBI News says.
