Omics! Omics! blogger Keith Robison posts at length on the story -- published in a December issue of Blood -- of Millennium Pharmaceuticals' quest to find a personalized treatment for multiple myeloma. For the first time in clinical trials, they used a genomics technique called RNA profiling to introduce a personalized medicine component to their trials. Effectively, finding and utilizing personalized information is a long way off, Robison believes.
