As the US government gets back to normal operations after the shutdown, Sally Rockey, the deputy director for extramural research at the National Institutes of Health, writes at her blog there will be some rescheduling of grant submissions.
In particular, she writes at Rock Talk that October submission deadlines will be moved to November "so that applicants will have access to NIH staff, help desks, and electronic systems." The exact date, she adds, is still being worked out, but will be published in the NIH Guide.
Additionally, Rockey says that review meetings will be rescheduled, both ones that were supposed to take place during the shutdown as well as those that were to take place this week or next week, as reviewers will need time to access and look over the applications.
"I anticipate a flurry of Guide notices over the next week as we communicate our plans," she adds.
A related notice also says that eRA Commons will be available to the public again on Monday.
