Federal Money, Gender, and Bias

At Blue Lab Coats, DrdrA discusses an NSF-sponsored study done by RAND into if there is gender bias in federal grant programs. The RAND study found no differences in funding outcomes at NSF or USDA between 2001 and 2003, however at NIH, female applicants received 63 percent of the funding that male applicants did. DrdrA also notes that NIH's budget is many times those of NSF or USDA.
