Drug repositioning is finding new uses for advanced drugs that ultimately were never approved, and Gene Logic is just one of a handful of companies hoping to make money off these compounds. The question remains, will it be the big pharmas or small biotechs that can actually get these through clinical trials? "One way to think of it is doing drug discovery, but with a compound which already has safety data on it," says Robison.
