At Omics! Omics!, Keith Robison reports that Pfizer has filed a patent based on a Gene Logic drug repositioning effort. Drug repositioning is finding new uses for advanced drugs that ultimately were never approved, and Gene Logic is just one of a handful of companies hoping to make money off these compounds. The question remains, will it be the big pharmas or small biotechs that can actually get these through clinical trials?
