With Francis Collins leaving NHGRI to eventually become NIH director and with Eric Green moving up to lead NHGRI, Green's former post of NHGRI intramural scientific director is now up for grabs, points out Sean Eddy at his blog, Cryptogenomicon. Eddy adds that he is on the search committee and they hope to begin interviews in March. "It will be hard to replace Eric Green, who was a fabulous SD — like Eric, the ideal person would need to be able to be fluent not only with genetics and genomics, but also with clinical research, and such a person could really use this as an opportunity to lead genomics into new areas of great human impact," Eddy writes.
