Do You Review?

At Terra Sigillata, Abel Pharmboy asks if assistant professors working on getting a shiny tenure dossier together should consider writing review papers, even if the tenure guidelines say review papers are not "original, peer-reviewed research publications." Abel Pharmboy did write reviews as a young professor but doubts they helped him get tenure and he asks if his experience is the norm.
