At the Epigenetics News blog, Trevor has a post offering tips to undergraduates for how to get the most out of their time in the lab. Some of them are things scientists in the labs won't want to hear (classes come before the lab, and "not all advice is good advice") and others will be music to their ears, such as "learn good lab techniques from postdoctoral fellows and lab managers."
