In planning her upcoming semester, DrdrA wonders about her institution's priorities. "Individual research program first, teaching second. Right? But the problem with this is that this is not how the institution [sees] these responsibilities — or it is, at least, not how they talk about them," she writes, adding that she has sat in plenty of meetings on revamping curriculum and the needs of students but none on how to manage and run a strong research group.
