Getting the Right Salary

Travis Medley at Bitesize Bio has a helpful blog post on how to negotiate your salary at a new job. He says it's always good to be consistent, so if anything about salary was communicated during the interview or to a recruiter, stick with it. He also recommends against using websites that provide a typical salary for a particular kind of job. "Each person and each position is unique," he writes. "It’s important to be paid fairly, but it is more important to get a job you are happy with; if you think it’s fair, it’s fair." Set your expectations and go from there.
